Quiet

As watchers may have noticed, I've been quiet lately. My computer's HD has been acting up for a while. I was hoping it'd last a little longer, since we just moved and money situation is better in the fall. No such luck, HD just failed. Given the limitations of the computer (Alienware X51, only one drive bay), and utter failure to replace the HD before (cost me $300, managed to get precisely nowhere with it), decided to bite the bullet and get new computer. It's funny, when I first shifted to Iray I felt that it was just so much easier to set a few things in Iray and get much better results, and easier lighting, than anything in 3DL. Now that I have some better light models, machine, and familiarity, I'm finding the opposite to be true -- I can get snappier, clearer results with 3DL in very little time compared to trying to wring the same out of Iray. Iray still does certain things better, but more and more... 3DL is way easier to get to where I want. Cool.
